Benefits Of Blogging

Can You Benefit from Blogging?

If you have already established your web presence, and have a website that you are maintaining, adding a blog can only serve to enhance this online presence. A blog is an easy way for you to provide your readers or potential customers with fresh content, this content can be provided as often as you like, maybe on a daily basis or weekly.

Whether you are a small business owner or you have a limited amount of funds, or perhaps the ability to use html or flash to design your website is beyond you. If any of these are the case for you then having your own blog could well be just what you need. And if you have to go to a designer for help with a new blog, you may find it much cheaper than having to seek help with a website that is built in the more traditional method of html or one of the other methods used.

Being able to post information as and when you would like to puts you in total control of your blog, you may even find that the ease of blogging means that you would like to tranfer any existing website that you own to a blogging platform. Another thing to take into consideration with regards to a website versus a blog is that your visitors to your blog can easily leave comments or questions, and as these will relate to the post that they are responding to other visitors will be able to learn more information, which in my opinion only adds to the value of your blog, and creates a sense of community at the same time.

Other benefits that are created when visitors are able to respond to your posts include:

1) Not needing a FAQ section, or at least one that is not extensive.
2) Less phone calls that you need to answer. (If you provide a phone number that is)
3) You will have less emails to deal with.
4) By responding to comments yourself you will show any visitors that you care about what they have to say.

On the subject of responding yourself to comments, i feel that it is important to do so whenever possible, even if it is to just thank the person for leaving a comment. Keep in mind that you will have to either screen comments before allowing them to be posted, or at least keep a close eye on what has been submitted, spam can be a big problem.

You will find that there are different pieces of software available to help with the monitoring of comments, but even still make sure you keep an eye on things.

Commenting is also a great way for visitors to create links to thier own website or blog. If the information that you provide is good, you may find others linking to it also.

Blogging provides a great way of promoting your business and earning revenue, or if you blog for pleasure monetizing your blog is simple to do, and we can all do with a little extra cash now and then.

In my next post i will take a look at some of the blogging platforms that are available, so until then “HAPPY BLOGGING”.

All the best…Garry
